Camber Sands

One of the most incredible beaches in the South of England, Camber Sands is covered in fine, golden sand uniquely complemented with beautiful dunes on the coast of East Sussex.

Camber beach is also impressively large, stretching almost 5 miles east of Camber village. As the tide goes out it is even greater and has RNLI lifeguards patrolling the majority during peak months. Off peak, dogs are permitted on the entire beach with certain areas still available during Summer months.

It is also very popular for windsurfing and kite-surfing as well as paddle boarding at the beach or nearby at Rye Watersport’s Centre.

The area is remarkably unspoilt despite this wonderful location, particularly given it’s close proximity to Ashford with fantastic fast and efficient links into London.

Dungeness and a unique miniature railway

Dungeness

Located a 15 minute drive from Seadrift is Dungeness, an area with a unique shingle landscape - often referred to as Britains only desert. Here you can visit the National Nature Reserve, The Old Lighthouse, and Derek Jarman’s ground-breaking garden at Prospect House.

The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch light railway also terminates at Dungeness. Its world famous one-third full size steam and diesel locomotives run 13 1/2 miles from the picturesque Cinque Port town of Hythe to Dungeness, passing through Dymchurch and New Romney.
